Mom does not work

"Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed." She went to the kitchen to keep things ready for the next morning's breakfast, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table. She then put some of the soiled clothes in a bucket of water to be washed in the morning; picked up... the newspapers strewn on the floor, put the telephone book back into the drawer, emptied the waste basket and hung up the towel to dry. She yawned, stretched, and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note on what has to be purchased at the grocery store, and put it in her purse, and as she was about to get herself into the night clothes, Dad called,"I thought you were in bed already!" "I am on my way," Mom said. She then put some water in the dog's dish, put the cat outside, made sure the doors were locked. She looked in on each of the kids and turned out a bedside lamp, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks in the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework. She then set the alarm, laid out clothing for the next day for the children, straightened up the shoe rack, said "Thank you" to the Lord, before going into bed. About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular, "I'm going to bed," ....And he did! Very often in our lives, we have a tendency to TAKE FOR GRANTED all that our Mothers do for us. Ask a student appearing for an interview for a professional course, "What does your Father and Mother do?" Quick comes the reply, "My Dad is an engineer. Mom does not work!" We hardly realize that Mom in fact works more than Dad! The hours of work she puts in during the day will certainly be more than the hours of work Dad puts in, and yet "Mom does not work!" After we have read this, let us go to our Mom and say, "THANK YOU MOM!" and give her a warm hug! She deserves more, mind you! ~by Bishop Percival Fernandez

Tan Kee Roast Duck Rice, Lunas 鲁乃烧鸭粥专卖店

25.6.12 (Mon)
Lunas is small town located in Kedah..When you mentioned Lunas, you will think of the famous roast duck rice..It's just like when you think of Klang, you think of Bak Kut Teh..

Last Friday, my cousin, Mei Yi, came to visit me in Kulim..so I brought her to Lunas for duck rice - Tan Kee Roast Duck Rice, Lunas 鲁乃烧鸭粥专卖店 ..a restaurant that occupied 3 shoplots. Hence, it is very spacious and cooling inside the restaurant. It has been a while since I went to Tan Kee for duck rice..We ordered one half roast plum sauce duck (酸梅鸭) for RM15 and one bowl of "chai boi" (酸辣大菜焖鸭肉)..the skin of the duck was crispy and the meat was tender..the meal for two came to RM25..The restaurant also serves porridge with egg, tofu, duck liver and vegetable..

Verdict out of Five (1-not good, 5-very good):
1. Quality of food: 3.5

2. Ambiances: 3 (old shoplot)
3. Audiences: 4 (crowded during public holidays as tourists tend to stopby for duck rice)
4. Price: 3
5. Services: 4
6. Hygiene: 3

Kids in the pool

I always wanted to buy a swimming pool for the children..but each time when we went to the shopping mall..we told ourselves..maybe the children are not ready for the pool yet..especially Abby has phobia towards swimming pool...This round..since Giant has promotion for kid's pool..so we decided to buy it..and it was a good decision..coz both Abby & Ian loved it..

It was a mini pool..big enough for two of them..Abby wasn't as scare as before..and Ian enjoying himself in the pool..it was sweet and happy to see both of them, playing with each other in the pool..hopefully as they grow older, they will be a good swimmer..unlike me.. :P

Durian time

Last Saturday, I bought one durian from morning market for RM8..At first, I wasn't eager to buy because I thought it was too expensive..but since hubby likes to eat and was craving for durian..so I bought it..Luckily, it was a good durian with creamy meat..

As soon as hubby opened up the durian..Ian was the first to grab one and put it into his mouth..this was also Ian's first time eating...and I think he likes it too..anyway, Ian eats anything and everything..haha..Abby saw that her brother enjoying the durian, she also joined in the crowd..All 3 of them had a good time eating the durian while Mummy (who doesn't eat durian), quickly hid herself in the room, busy facebook-ing..haha..

Happy Father's Day 2012

This was the 3rd father's day for hubby..For the last 2 years, I prepared cards for him, with Abby's signature on the card..but this year, a friend of mine, who helped to operate a souvenir shop, gave me an idea on the Father's day's gift...."Ta Da"

Then, I also prepared a small Father's day's craftwork for the Sunday School children..

Abby colored this, with my help

We had a Father's day celebration with church buddies too..at Just Pizza, Sunway Carnival..It was a good gathering, with lots of chit-chatting, eating, laughing..All of us had fun..especially the children..Both Abby & Vanya had became close friends..and as usual, Ian was making noise and either one of us gotta grabbed hold of him so that he won't create any troubles.. :P

Hubby was grateful for all the things I had arranged for him..well, it was just small matter ..as long as everyone is happy!
