Our church friends bought one Groupon voucher for 10pax and invited us for dinner to this restaurant at Georgetown, Penang - The Cruises Steak House. Free meals..why not :P
However, we faced problem making reservations with the restaurant as it is always fully booked! Initially we wanted to go on early June, but due to some reasons and also couldn't make the booking, finally we managed to utilise the voucher today!
Since my friend failed to make the booking, I decided to try my luck and helped out. So I called the restaurant 1 week earlier and asked to reserve a table for 10 adults & 4 kids..
Me: Hi. I would like to like to make a reservation for 10 adults & 4 kids.
TCSH: When?
Me: This coming Sun, 30/6.
TCSH: Oh sorry Miss, we are fully booked on that day!
Me: What? Fully booked again?? How about 6pm..Don't tell me so early also fully booked!
TCSH: Let me check..oh 6pm, ya we are available.
Me: Alright, plz help me book a table for 10 adults and 4 kids. Thank you.
Probably because many people also bought the same Groupon voucher, hence the restaurant is always fully booked especially during weekends..
Traffic was pretty smooth but got a lil jammed nearby Pengkalan Weld..we managed to reach the place by 6pm and the place was already half full of people..It was a nicely decorated restaurant, with many gadgets, wall pictures, antiques..So, you could see many people busy taking pictures inside the restaurant, including me!
The Groupon voucher came with a 3 course meals - Appetiser (mushroom soup or salad), Main course (Salmon steak / Potato chicken chop / Lamb chop / Seafood spaghetty / King sausage with cheese) & Dessert (ice cream)..I ordered the lamb chop with mint sauce and hubby took the potato chicken chop..food portion was quite big and tasted good.
We also ordered some side dishes..I liked the fried big buns (RM5 for 5 pcs), delicious!
It was a great night spent with church buddies (priceless moments and gathering) and the kids were having fun too!
