My mum and sis came to visit us in Kulim..Usually when you have guests, there will certainly be makan-makan..hehe..
We went to pick them from Penang International Airport around 11am and headed to Penang town for brunch..thereafter, we went to the newly opened mall in town - Gurney Paragon..(initial plan was to tour around the Georgetown Heritage on the hop-on bus, but due to the hot hot weather, we decided to change plan and chose to go to the air-conditioned mall) Personally, I didn't quite like the mall..first of all, the car parking system was terrible as it was a two drive-way system, superb dangerous and it caused jammed as cars gotta wait for each other to park/drive pass etc. (hubby agreed too)..Secondly, most of the retail shops (mostly very high-class and expensive shops) were not those commonly found in the usual mall we went to (just my personal opinion)..We couldn't find a suitable F&B shop to sit down and have snacks! Anyway, at least we visited the mall once.
Around 4.30pm..we left the mall..and took us about 20mins to leave the car park due to the reasons mentioned above..ridiculous! Anyway, we planned to have seafood dinner at this restaurant in Batu Kawan..The last time when we were there was probably 4 yrs ago..So, Hubby drove there based on his memory and luckily, we found the restaurant - Yen Batu Kawan.
Apparently, the restaurant had relocated from the home-based restaurant to a bigger and spacious building..We reached there before 6am so it was not crowded yet..Food was delicious with reasonable price.
